Horses have a memory and they still don’t seem to hold a grudge. If a horse has been abused by women then that horse will be very warry around women and will choose to stay away from them if he can.
When horses get annoyed with each other they let each other know it immediately with a nip or kick and then it’s done, over, and they get on with whatever they are doing or enjoying.
Here are some meditations you can have that will help you see more clearly: Meditations
These are 2 really valuable lessons I have been practicing more and more in my own life.
Stay away from people who hurt you. Don’t keep going back for more. I include physical hurt, mental hurt, mental sabotage (even very subtle sabotage), emotional hurt (like guilt), and general negativity (constant negativity will affect you too). Forgive them then look for people who will lift you up not pull you down.
Whatever feeling comes up, whenever it comes up, just feel it until it dissipates. I am not required to judge that feeling good or bad. I am not required to act out that feeling. I am not required to pretend I don’t have that feeling. I am not required to attach any thoughts to that feeling. The feeling just is.
Here’s an example. It is really windy outside and I want to go out somewhere. I can choose to enjoy the wind on my face, blowing through my hair, rustling the leaves. Or, I can be really angry that the wind is blowing and will mess up my hair and then I will look awful when I get where I am going. But there is another choice. I can observe that wind is blowing, I can go out and just feel the wind and let that feeling wash through me, I can observe that my hair is no longer like I put it and comb it again. I don’t have to make a story out of it. I am free to just feel whatever feeling came with the wind in my face.
When you really look at the process, the story you tell yourself starts long before you go out into the wind. The wind just it, it has no agenda with regard to you.
I encourage you to just think about these things and observe yourself and the stories you tell yourself in your head. Really examine the validity of all the parts of your stories. What you will usually find is that most if not all of it is not fact, that there are exceptions to the things you are taking as fact. If there are exceptions then it isn’t fact. If it isn’t fact then you are free to pick whatever you want to tell yourself.
