Doctors, surgeons, nurses, teachers, emergency workers, social workers, and more, can’t be effective in their work if they take on each person’s problems. It surprises me how many coaches think they need to take on their client’s problems.
Compassion is the ability to assist people with care and respect without taking on problems as one’s own.
Taking problems on decreases a coach’s ability to assist clients. It puts the coach in the same place as the client. Compassion allows you to be caring while also being able to see more clearly, to observe what is really going on without the emotional attachment. In that way a coach can provide a client with advice and suggestions the client isn’t able to see.
The ability to be in observer state, the state of Source, is probably the biggest thing I teach my clients. From that state all possibility can manifest.
