We know the body cannot run on its own. When the mind (spirit) leaves, the body dies.
The autonomic nervous system appears to run automatically, however we know that things like the heart rate can be controlled by the mind directly when we choose to change the number of beats per minute. We are learning that any body function can be consciously controlled with practice. Is this any different than a baby learning to control its bladder? The bladder functions without our conscious control and when we consciously control it our physical universe expands and changes for us. Why did most of us stop there? Even hospitals are using visioning methods to help patients recover faster. See - http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/2002/04.18/09-tummo.html
A Course in Miracles teaches us that our body is what we made in order to convince ourselves that we are separate from each other and from God. However separation equals sickness. When you take any living thing and chop it into a bunch of separate pieces they get sick and die. God is THE living thing and we are part of God. We are all one and one with God. When we believe that we are a body and are separate then we must get sick and die.
Imagine now, for just a second, that your mind controls your brain and your body. What would your life be like if you chose to use your body as a tool to return to God? The Divine is pure love and light and in that there is no sickness, no sin. If we are the children of God and made in his image as we know we are, then when we choose to remember and live that, we will have to change. We will no longer be able to punish ourselves for trying to be separate.
We choose to forgive our brothers and sisters. We choose to forgive ourselves. We choose to forgive the bystanders in our lives. And as we forgive and bless ourselves and each other we now see light, we even feel lighter.
We didn’t even have to make big gestures or even say anything out loud. We simply looked at people and forgave them and blessed them in our mind as we forgave and blessed ourselves. And as we forgave and blessed we looked into their eyes and saw ourselves.
And as we listened to that voice within us that knows all things and guides us to do that which is good for all of us we cannot help but heal. For now we move in the direction of the Divine, now we start to walk the path that the truly enlightened, like Jesus, came to show us.
So I ask you, do you want to be separate? Or do you want to be one and heal us all.
